I am running Windows 10 post Creators Update and I got the black screen issue as soon as I started Shardlight but I fixed the issue by changing the compatibility mode in the properties of the Shardlight application (steamapps\common\Shardlight) to Windows 8. However, I think I found a simpler (for me at least) solution.
